Lewis
Lewis started Junior Handling with our first Beagle, Harvey. Harvey was a real handful, so Lewis learnt the hard way! At their first show together, he won best Junior Handler, Best of Breed and the Hound Group - a good day's work! He has handled lots of breeds of dogs, including Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, Shetland Sheepdogs and Hungarian Vizlas. He has also had a go at handling an Irish Wolfhound but might need to grow a bit before trying that again!!
Lewis seems to have a natural affinity with dogs and is able to get nearly all of them to "freestand" for him which is no mean feat. He has qualified for the Junior Handling Association semi-finals at Richmond on several occasions. He has also qualified for The Scottish Kennel Club Junior Handler of the Year twice so far. Lewis and Maisie have been placed in Junior Handling classes at all the Champ shows we have attended and now he has started handling Ruby and is doing well with her.
Lewis Qualified for the Young Kennel Club Handling Final at Crufts 2011 by winning his class at SKC in August 2010. The Young Kennel Club picked up on his story and did a piece on him for the Kennel Club website! Famous again!!
He will be handling Ruby in the breed class at Crufts 2012.
